A more considered search

Your brief is more
than a job title.

A residential architect is not automatically a residential interiors specialist. Revit training is not the same as producing construction documents in an office.

CFA Match Intelligence is designed to bring those distinctions into focus. It supports a shortlist grounded in relevant work, with strengths and unanswered questions visible to the matchmaker.

01

Project type & design language

Residential, workplace, cultural or institutional work. Traditional, modern or classical design. Relevance to your actual projects, not a broad industry label.

02

Project phases & responsibility

Space planning, site and landscape design, interiors and decorating, preliminary design, design development, CDs, detailing, redlines, bidding and construction administration. What did the person actually own?

03

Software in context

Office production, school projects and training are different kinds of experience. Stated beginner, intermediate or advanced levels remain attributed to the candidate, not presented as independently tested.

04

Portfolios with a purpose

When available, work samples add context on project fit, design quality, technical work and the person’s contribution. No portfolio means no portfolio penalty.

05

Assessment evidence

Verified CAD assessment records add the exam name, version, score and date to the conversation. A knowledge test is one source of evidence, not a substitute for professional experience.

06

Practical fit & open questions

Location, on-site expectations, seniority and stated constraints matter. Availability and interest still need confirmation; missing information is a question to resolve, not a fact to assume.

Beyond the keyword

“Revit” is a word.
The work is the evidence.

Repeating a software name does not establish expertise. The useful question is whether someone has used it to deliver the kind of work your role requires.

Workplace Interiors

The brief calls for office-interiors experience, professional Revit production and responsibility through design development and construction documents.

Look for comparable work

The right building type.
The right part of the process.

Review the résumé, relevant notes and available portfolio together. Look for workplace projects, the phases completed and the person’s specific responsibilities.

Strong evidence
Attributed workplace DD/CD work
Needs clarification

Separate experience from repetition

One clear example can say
more than fifteen mentions.

Office-based Revit modeling, documentation and coordination tell a different story from a software list or a school course. Self-reported proficiency is identified as such.

Professional use
Revit work tied to an office project and role
Academic use
Coursework or a student project, labeled separately

Keep judgment in human hands

A missing detail should
start a useful conversation.

An unlisted secondary tool is not automatically a reason to reject an otherwise strong candidate. Separate essential requirements from learnable skills and ask the right follow-up questions.

Potentially learnable

Still to confirm
Current availability, interest and practical fit

The person behind the process

More intelligence.
Still your matchmaker.

The goal is not to hand you an algorithm’s verdict. It is to give your CFA matchmaker a clearer starting point for a thoughtful conversation about the people your practice needs.

Meet CFA
  1. 01

    Define what matters

Discuss the work, project phases, required skills and practical constraints. Distinguish essentials from preferences.

  2. 02

    Review the evidence

Use available records and relevant work samples to identify potential matches. Keep evidence gaps and qualifications in view.

  3. 03

    Bring people into the decision

Your matchmaker follows up on fit, interest and availability. Your feedback helps refine the search; your firm makes the hiring decision.

Good questions

Clarity is part
of the match.

Technology should help explain a recommendation, not make it harder to question.

Is this replacing CFA’s matchmakers?

No. CFA Match Intelligence is designed as decision support for our team. People interpret the evidence, resolve questions and guide introductions; the client makes the hiring decision.

What if a candidate has no portfolio?

A missing portfolio does not lower the candidate’s score. Available résumés, project histories and relevant notes can still support a match. “None available” is different from a portfolio that has not yet been reviewed or cannot be opened.

Does everyone have a verified CAD exam?

No. Assessment information is included when a matching record is verified. An incomplete check is marked “Not verified,” not “No exam.” Exam scores are reported as context and do not automatically change the ranking.

Does a missing software keyword rule someone out?

Not by itself. Equivalent terms and contextual evidence can establish relevant experience. A missing nonessential, learnable tool is flagged for review rather than used as an automatic rejection; genuine job requirements still matter.

Is every opening monitored continuously?

No. CFA selects the searches where this approach is used. Evidence is reviewed for those searches, and current availability, interest and suitability must still be confirmed.
