Our client is a well-established Boston-area architecture and design firm seeking temporary support for an ongoing residential sound insulation project for Massport.
Description:
Our client is seeking a Temporary Field Inspector to report directly to the Construction Administrator and provide construction observation services for a residential sound insulation project in East Boston. The Field Inspector will visit residential properties to observe ongoing work, document field conditions, take photographs, and prepare clear and accurate field reports. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with an architectural, construction, or building background who is comfortable working independently in the field and maintaining thorough project documentation. The assignment is expected to begin in mid-to-late October 2026 and continue for approximately two months.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular construction observations at residential properties in East Boston
• Document progress and existing field conditions through photographs
• Prepare detailed field reports and observation notes
• Report observations and issues to the Construction Administrator
• Monitor work for general conformance with the project requirements
• Maintain organized project documentation and records
• Communicate professionally with project team members and contractors as needed
Required:
• Previous experience in construction, architecture, engineering, or a related field
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Comfortable conducting site visits independently
• Ability to take clear, thorough construction photographs and prepare field reports
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to residential sites throughout East Boston
Education:
Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
